Polyphia – GOAT (cover by Artem Ali)

by Artem Ali | Last Update: January 9, 2021

At this time, we did a cover of the band’s most famous track, Polyphia. The GOAT riff is considered one of the most difficult, but we don’t think so. Ableton Live 10 sequencer, Focusrite 2i2 sound card and VST plug-ins for electric guitar processing were used for recording. The Stereodamage team and I were wondering how to make a guitar tone like Tim Henson’s? But with VST plug-ins and a guitar without SSS pickups, it’s hard to achieve this result. We lowered the lower middle of the frequency, slightly raised the upper frequencies, used BIAS AMP and applied a compressor. The easiest way to copy the Polyphia Tone is with Axe FX or Kemper profiling amp. They very accurately copy the sound of guitar cabinets and amplifiers, and have very cool processing. We used the Backing track from Gutho’s Youtube channel. You can download GOAT Backing track (remastered) from the link below.
